A Dog's Life

A butcher watching over his shop is really surprised when he sees a dog coming inside the shop. He shoos him away. But later, the dog is back again. So, he goes over to the dog and notices it has a note in its mouth.

He takes the note and it reads "Can I have 12 sausages and a leg of lamb, please". The dog has money in its mouth, as well. The butcherlooks inside and, lo and behold, there is a ten dollar note there. So he takes the money and puts the sausages and lamb in a bag, placing it in the dog's mouth.

The butcher is so impressed, and since it's about closing time, he decides to shut the shop and follow the dog. So off he goes. The dog is walking down the street, when it comes to a level crossing; the dog puts down the bag, jumps up and presses the button.

Then it waits patiently, bag in mouth, for the lights to turn. They do, and it walks across the road, with he butcher following him all the way. The dog then comes to a bus stop, and starts looking at the timetable.

The butcher is in awe as the dog stops a bus by pulling its left leg up and gets in it. The butcher follows the dog into the bus. Then the dog shows a ticket which is tied to its belt to the bus conductor. The butcher is nearly fainting at this sight, so are the other passengers in the bus.

The dog then sits near the driver's seat looking outside waiting for the bus stop to come. As soon as the stop is in sight, the dog stands and wags its tail to inform the conductor. Then, without waiting for the bus to stop completely, it jumps out of the bus and runs to a house very close to the stop. It opens the big Iron Gate and rushes inside towards the door.

As it approaches the wooden door, the dog suddenly changes its mind and heads towards the garden. It goes to the window, and beats its head against it several times, walks back, jumps off, and waits at the door.

The butcher watches as a big guy opens the door, and starts abusing the dog, kicking him and punching him, and swearing at him. The butcher surprised with this, runs up, and stops the guy.

"What in heaven's name are you doing? The dog is a genius. He could be on TV,for the life of me!" to which the guy responds: "YOU CALL THIS CLEVER? THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS WEEK THAT THIS STUPID DOG'S FORGOTTEN HIS KEY.

"=============Moral of the story:============= "

You may continue to exceed onlooker's expectations but shall always fall short of the boss' expectations. IT's A DOGs LIFE AFTER ALL !!!!

Heaven and Hell

Almost all the religions and civilization in the world has presented mankind with the concept of Heaven and Hell. This was present from the earliest existence of humans, or to the formation of the complex societies of today. This single point of belief was already there as if, we were made with that concept. One other thing predominant with this concept was that, these mythical places are very far far away from here, where no man can go alive.....

Hence we never sought it out. All we knew was that, if you perform good deeds, you will visit heaven, where all your desires will be granted. If you are bad in your life, you go to hell where unthinkable will happen with you....

A perfect carrot/stick guideline for every human to look up to and motivate him to perform good deeds. However there is a catch. "A good deed". What is this good deed? Sometimes a good deed is saving and sometimes it is destroying. An element of human judgment is involved in this.

Also conviently it is also described that "The Good" always wins... So irrespective of two sides, it is the good which wins, which implies, neither side is ever good or bad. It is result of action, which describes it as good or bad... Hence, no action, no person or no deed can be ever good or bad, until it is executed. Its reaction, will label it as good or bad.

So, even if we have a destination, we do not have a clear path. Adding to mayhem, is a simple fact, that none of us have any idea, where this destination lies. We were told from birth, that it exists and generic guidelines have been drawn to go there....

However, if one observe from the definitions defined over the period of time and look for the clues in the course of its mortal existence, we find striking similarities in the destination described and the place we habitat. What we seek our whole lives, lies in front of us all the time....

Yes, in a creepy way, it makes sense. This life, this place, the surrounding we live is the place where heaven or hell also resides.... It is carved out from out actions and its reaction.

You experience heaven, when you fulfill your desires. If that causes harm to others... its reaction will create hell for you.... In case it does not, it will enrich your heavenly experience..

Heaven is where life has value, respect and freedom with responsibilities.
Hell is where it is absent. It is the two sides of coin at same plane.

Birth, its place and time, plays an important role in how close to you are heaven or hell. This mystery is something, which does not make sense. However if we go beyond a lifespan, it appears that it may be decided by actions in some distant past. In my previous blog, I had mentioned that Life is a sequence of choice...

We create heaven from our desires and hell from our misendeavours. There is very less which you can do negate the effect of birth and birthplace. However there is definitely lot, which everyone can do to make heaven in this place and push it boundaries a little far than it exists today. So someone, who takes birth at the new place is never left out... Everyone has a chance.... Everyone can contribute to make this world a heaven.

Without a chance

I do not know. how many times if anyone has felt this, I guess at some point in life, we all feel its unfair. We did not have a chance to do anything about what happened. There is sense of frustration and helpness of which nothing can be done. As in most of these times, we are not in control, someone else or something else is. We may blame god for this and forget this moment and move on as nothing happned.
However, it pricks us time to time, reminding how we did not have a chance to do something. Here the essence is that the victim does not have much in control, its the other person or situation.

Generally, people judge the book by its cover. This is an instinct. However, although it seems to be useful and intelligent, sometimes it might be foolish and dangerous. The best things in life, not always arrive in the most attractive packaging. Sometmes the most unlikely option is the best option. This option will be never known if a fair chance is not given to it.

I agree, we all are short of time and in most cases, we do not have enough time to judge effectively or be fair to all options. However, it is just a mindset. Effective planning and open mindeness can really be helpful in such situations. Just a fair look with an open mind can make a huge difference in the way things appear to us. This could be the key differnce in a choice.

Hence if possible, always try to give atleast one fair chance, as you never know when tables will turn. Moreover, no path is certain, unless it is treaded once. You never know, when the most unlikey choice becomes the best choice.

Most of the wonderful discoveries made by mankind was out of chance. So never let anything go without giving it a chance.

The Choice

Life is sequences of choices. Every moment you live is a result of a choice that was made in some distant or near past. Your present is based on the choice you made in past. Sounds intriguing but yet true. A small fact that we always seem to ignore as it never happens. Yet almost all of us are haunted by it at some time or later.

It is also possible that the life you live may not be result of a choice you made. It might have been made up or chosen by someone else, who in some cases you would have known or in many, you did not.

Most of us would agree that what in deed we are today, is primarily due to the environment we grew, education we received. The irony of fate is that these primitive choices are never made by you, or in most cases, anyone whom you knew.

So don’t you agree that what ever we are today is exactly what you had not chosen to be. The next question and perhaps the more important would be, what you had been if you had made those primitive and important choices.

As a matter of fact, these questions cannot be answered. As no one can look beyond the choice they make. So as always the other side of the choice you took will be a mystery and would be kept in complete darkness.

All you can do is to move forward. There is no use drooling over a choice and hoping that we would have taken another path. As you would have never know, where it would have taken you. Once choice is made and executed, all we can do is to learn from it and move forward. Do not loose your present over past. It is not going to come back. So what should we do?

Learn from the past and make better choices. That’s all we can do and do hope that whatever we chose at given moment is the best one we could at given time.

When we make a choice, we have information about the choices we have an assumption of conditions that it will generate and finally a hope/expectation for the result.

To make good choices, use your experience for understanding the information you have, consult if required. Evaluate your assumptions against practical terms. Have a clear goal and march forward. Sometimes do listen to your instincts and your heart. They can also lend a helping hand.

Once you make your choices, never waste your time crying over it. We always try to choose the best.

Past is history, future is mystery and present is a gift, use it wisely…
Apply some thoughts when you choose, as your life someday will be a reflection of the choices you make today.
